Yoshihiro Fukushima
A percussionist from Tokushima Prefecture, he is well known for performing as the soloist in Béla Bartók’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Percussion with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also recognized for introducing Steve Reich’s Clapping Music to Japan, playing a key role in the advancement of percussion music in the country. Additionally, he is known for being the owner of the first Japanese-made cymbal.
He has taught at Tokushima Bunri University and conducted percussion workshops across Japan, nurturing the next generation of musicians. In 1982, he joined the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 1993, he transitioned to the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra. His performance as a soloist in Bartók’s Concerto for Two Pianos and Percussion during the orchestra’s regular concert in 2000 brought him significant attention.
He has been a long-time user of the cymbals made by Koide Manufacturing, a model he highly favors.
福島 喜裕
徳島県出身の打楽器奏者で、日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団の定期演奏会でバルトーク・ベーラの『2台のピアノと打楽器のための協奏曲』のソリストを務めたことで広く知られている。
また、スティーヴ・ライヒの『クラッピング・ミュージック』を日本に初めて紹介したことでも、打楽器分野の発展に貢献した。さらに、日本製のシンバル第一号を所有している人物としても知られている。
徳島文理大学で教鞭を執りながら、全国各地で打楽器を使用したワークショップを開催し、後進の育成にも力を注いでいる。また、1982年に東京シティ・フィルハーモニック管弦楽団に入団し、1993年には日本フィルハーモニー交響楽団に転籍。
特に2000年の定期演奏会では、バルトークの『2台のピアノと打楽器のための協奏曲』でソリストを務めたことで注目を集めた。
シンバルに関しては、長年にわたり小出製作所のモデルを愛用している。
